Hi Eddie!
Its been a while so I thought I'd send you some pictures of my Sportmaster.
She's just about ready to go. Not sure if you've been watching my thread on
RCU but I did a few mods. I shortened the wing 6" and spaced the ribs
further apart eliminating several ribs. I moved the elevator and rudder servos
to the back of the fuselage to compensate for the extra weight of the OS Surpass
.91 and it looks like I'm going to be able to mount the battery and receiver
right on the CG for it to balance! As you know I mounted the landing gear
on the fuse forward of the wing and also modified the nose to flow into the
spinner. I used a Sportster 120 canopy and it looks a little more streamline
but I really wish I could have found an original. I increased the size of
the rudder slightly by 1/2" although I'm not sure that it was necessary.
I like having a lot of rudder as our field has a mean cross wind so it helps
with landings.
My goal was to keep it as light as possible so I cut a lot of wood out of
the structure. I think its still plenty strong yet much lighter than a stock
Sportmaster.
Now that she's almost done, I must tell you that I'm very pleased with
how she came out. Your kit was outstanding! The quality of the wood and the
laser cutting was absolutely perfect. I try to recommend your services whenever
possible because of the fact that you always deliver a quality product at
a more than reasonable price. Anyway, here are some pics, feel free to
use them for whatever you wish,
Your friend,

Hey Ed, Got the Giant
Stick (Bud Nosen Big Stick) all finished
up. Flies great. I'm going to be doing a Twin Stick this Winter. I'll be hitting
you up for another short kit with a few extra ribs in a couple of months.

Excellent cutting job. I made a few changes to make the plane
a little less prone to hanger rash. I replaced the 1/8 balsa spars in the
bottom wing with spruce and used 1/8 birch ply in place of hardwood for the
strut attach points.I extended the cowl 1/2 inch to cover the Saito .30. Will
cover the wings with Solar Tex and glass the fuse. Flying weight will be about
3.5 pounds with micro servos.

Mike stared building the Marauder in the beginning of 2004. While the site is currently down, his Marauder is still looking good.
